New Student: You are attending college for the first time.
Ready to get started at Sinclair? Follow the steps below to find out how to begin your degree or certificate. All steps can be completed at any Sinclair location! Want to learn more about Sinclair before you apply? Schedule a campus visit.
International students should apply on the Prospective F-1 Student page.
Apply for admission. Complete the paper application or online at: apply.sinclair.edu
Apply for financial aid at: fafsa.ed.gov
- Use Sinclair code: 003119
- Complete your FAFSA as early as possible to ensure your financial aid is processed in time to pay for your classes.
Verify your username and set your password at: my.sinclair.edu
- It is important to begin checking your @sinclair.edu email account for important registration and financial aid updates.
Complete placement to determine your first-semester classes. You can do this by:
- Submitting transcripts from any college you have earned credit from (including through CCP, Tech Prep or another early college program)
- Submitting College-level ACCUPLACER, ACT, SAT, ALEKS, or Compass (math) scores received within the past two years.
- Taking Sinclair Placement Tests
Meet with an academic advisor.
- Develop your My Academic Plan (MAP)
- Discuss prior learning assessment options (e.g., CLEP, AP, portfolio-based)
Attend New Student Orientation in person or online.
Register for classes and pay tuition.
- Both can be completed in person or online at: my.sinclair.edu
- Complete How to Succeed in eLearn (HTS) at: sinclair.edu/locations/online/hts/ if you plan to register for online or FlexPace courses at: sinclair.edu/locations/online/flexpace/getting-started/.
Visit a Sinclair location to get your student ID and purchase your books.
- Student ID (Tartan Card)—Bring a photo ID and a copy of your class schedule.
- Buy your books at the Sinclair Bookstore
Go to your first day of classes!
